CHEAP,NOT THE PLACE TO STAY ON YOUR FIRST TRIP TO NYC
You have your 5 star hotels, and your average hotels. This place, I wouldn't even rank in the top 500. The Glenwood Hotel, or Hostel which it's really known as,is located in Williamsburg,Brooklyn just outside NYC. An easy walk from the MTA subways J,M,and Z. The hotel is located on Broadway near Rodney St. When you walk through the door, you'll have to walk up to the 2nd floor to get to the front desk. The front desk looks like a cage painted in two-tone purple & yellow. The rates are cheap for those on an extreme budget. The rooms.....well...........if you have a family and your all on vacation to NYC....PLEASE STOP READING HERE!!! For those of you who choose to continue reading, listen up!!! THE ROOMS ARE EXTREMLY SMALL.THINK: YOUR HALLWAY CLOSET AT HOME, AND YOU'LL GET A FIGURE OF WHAT I'M SAYING!!! These are cubicle type rooms with no windows. The only windows are outside the rooms along the walls. None of the rooms have bathrooms.Bathrooms are shared with other people. WHen using the toilet,it may be smart to bring your disinfectant to clean the seat. The bathroom sometimes smells like urine. The only plus is for the women, who get to use a private, and locked bathroom on the opposite side of the main bathroom. You do have privacy in the rooms, but keep in mind, the rooms are not sound proof. If someone is talking on the other side of the floor, you can hear it clearly, cause there are no ceilings to the rooms, just a cloth covering the tops of the cubicles. And there also seems to be a reoccuring problem with bedbugs there,so if you do choose to stay there, make sure your clothes stay in a closed bag,or your suitcase. Also keep in mind that some of the people staying at the hotel are actually residents. Most on Welfare, but a small majority of them who go to work, and saving money till the can find a place of their own. One last thing, MAKE SURE WHEN YOUR GOING OUT,LOCK YOUR ROOM CUZ THERE HAVE BEEN THEFTS REPORTED THERE. Security is minimal at best.

Pros: Cheap place to stay,if money is at an extreme for you and your friend(s).
Cons: You can experience what it's like to stay in a room there by spending the night in your hallway closet in your own home!
