The highlight of my visit to Brooklyn NY!
I visited NY 2 weeks ago from Phenoix and was invited to meet an old friend at this establishment for dinner and drinks! "Nice West Indian Restaurant" he said as I rolled my eyes, after visiting 2 or 3 shabby looking "mom's and pops" Jamaican restaurants in the Flatbush area that week, but never the less, I agreed after all, Its been almost a yr since I last saw him, I thought to myself! As I walked into the door, I was really impressed with the setting and scenery, I was expecting another "lil shop" of a place, but instead I was pleasantly surprised because here was this gem in the midst of east Flatbush! A west indian spot with all the fine dining qualities that I needed! It was a Wednesday night, only around 9pm yet there seemed to have been standing room only as I followed the pleasant hostess that sat us in the back area of the restaurant. I couldn't get over how wonderful my experience was... my waitress was so sweet and very efficient, as I sipped my dejavu cocktail, she explained that things were so busy, that our food was gonna be quite the wait, and I must admit, I was hungry, because I chose to starved myself all day because I knew I was going out to eat that night! After a few cocktails and appetizers, and 45 mins of catching up on old times, the sweet jams of island music pumped thru the atmosphere by live band! I was surprised, to experience a live band in a restaurant, and my waitress informed me that it was an every Wednesday practice! I marveled in amazement! I really feel like I'm on an island vacation I snickered to my friend! Finally in the distance, our waitress returned with our dinner, "thank God" I thought, I was ready to eat a cow at that point!!! OMG! Why didnt anyone tell me that the dish "Rasta Pasta" was a gift from the Gods!!!! lol! Ohhh wow! It was sooo worth the wait! What a lovely place! I told all my NYC friends about the footprints cafe, and decided to return that Saturday!!! I am always forced to go to Manhattan whenever I visit, due to the shortage of fine places in Brooklyn, but this time I had to prove to them That Brooklyn had fabulous places too! Man, I cant wait to return to get my hands on that rasta past again!!! A+++ Footprints!!!
